first of the new

This is just a head's up that this weekend, I am going to bow to the inevitable and start listing my pre-baby garb for sale. (alas for me, but maybe yay for you?) Though perhaps no one will want them now that 5G has been declared a corset-free zone, I'm going to start with these two corsets, which I have never actually worn.
These are the original Artfire listings:

I'm going to start listing them at $150.
Let me know if you have any interest. Also, let me know if you have any good recommendations for Facebook groups, etc for selling garb.

free window a/c units

We are getting rid of our window air conditioners if anyone wants them. You'll likely have to come to Westwood to get them Thursday or Friday evening, because we only have the place through the 31st and we don't want to bring them to Mansfield. But they will be free!

One is a large unit that pretty much cooled most of our apartment, and also did not cost all that much in terms of electricity. It is very large and it is hard to get into windows but it is totally worth it.

One is a smaller unit that fits easily into a window and cools a medium-sized room pretty well. The two of these together cooled our entire apartment for the last 4 years.

Lastly we have a pretty small one that pretty much just does one room. This one is in Mansfield and can be acquired at any time.

Free Pants

ETA: pants claimed!

Are you an individual who could wear men's size 32x32 pants? I have two pairs: one a 100% cotton black cargo pant, of general all-purpose usefulness. Never worn, but washed at least twice. The other is a tan/khaki pair in a lightweight and very fast-drying material, marketed for "travel" but worn once as part of a 1930's British naturalist/explorer costume. Has zip off pants legs that are not really obvious, and many pockets. Could be useful for normal use or for larping.

I am giving these away! Just comment here or email me, and they can be yours.

holiday craft show at the Armory

I highly recommend the Foundry Artists arts and crafts fair/show at the Armory in Pawtucket. Admission is free, but you can make a donation to the Rhode Island Food Bank. I went last year and it was quite good. If you are already going to be in Providence for any reason this weekend, it's on the way!

Help a cat in need, acquire cool stuff

shadesong's cat had a terrible accident and needed surgery. shadesong is holding an auction to help raise money to pay for the surgery. You can read about it here:
http://kittycyborg.livejournal.com/387.html

I've donated two items of jewelry to the auction:

http://kittycyborg.livejournal.com/3118.html
http://kittycyborg.livejournal.com/3016.html

They were available on my etsy store, but since I no longer have one, they're now only available here!

If you're interested, head on over to bid on those or other exciting items to help out! Or donate your own items.

Thanks!

Do you need a kitty?

Here is a post about some cats in northern MA whose owner died recently of pancreatic cancer. She had 3 cats and her family is looking for a home for them. If you're looking to adopt/rescue a cat or two, or know someone who is, take a look:

On Stranger Tides

A recent re-organization of my bookshelves has determined that I am in fact missing my copy of Tim Powers' On Stranger Tides. This was out of print for awhile along with several of his older books, and I'd managed to track down a used copy through Amazon some years back. I think my copy was an older hardback, though it might be a trade paperback; the cover looks somewhat like this: http://www.amazon.com/Stranger-Tides-Tim-Powers/dp/1930235321

I know that I have lent out my copies of these out of print books to various people in the past, but I believe all the others have been returned to me. If you've borrowed books from me in the past, can you check to make sure you don't have my copy of On Stranger Tides? I expect that with the movie coming out the book will be easier to find, but I'd rather not replace it if I don't have to.

Chapin Sisters

Sadly, looks like the Providence show got canceled. :-( You can still see them in Boston on Friday night! If you plan to do so, and can, I seriously suggest getting tickets between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Berklee Performance Center box office at 136 Massachusetts Avenue, because the only way they sell tickets online is through Ticketmaster, and they charge a stupid markup.
